Change is a huge lesson throughout life. As we go through life we will begin to notice things that no longer work for us that may have worked in the past. Progression is a major key of life.

Dreams are a mixture of both conjecture and inspiration. Dreams are the many freedoms of doing what makes us happy. They are filled with pleasures and the desires of life, just waiting to be fulfilled. They are destined to be reality with a combination of hard-work, dedication, and faith.....What's your dream?

In honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. today is a very sad, but rememberable one.? He had an amazing dream that his eyes were not able to see come to life, but without a doubt we do know that his spirit witnessed it before eyes of any man did. He gave his life for his dream.

The youth need our attention and need it now! On Saturday, November 5, 2011 my foundation, Project Tomorrow performed a Silent Youth Rally in my hometown, Morganton, NC. A silent youth rally by means of promoting positivity. It is so hard to look around your surroundings and see things that are positive. We wanted to bring awareness to issues of our youth and let them know they are not alone and people are working towards overcoming those issues. It was a way to give them hope and support through their journey.

It's not about where you start in life, but where you end.  No matter if you grew up in the projects surrounded by the downfalls of drugs and alcohol.  No matter if your mother or father were absent.  No matter if even your grandmother raised you.  No matter if everyone around you portrayed a negative environment.

As we cruise through life we find ourselves traveling up mountains of situations or troubles and down valleys of love.  Sometimes we even travel through lanes of good and often stir off onto ramps of bad.  Often we take turns onto the richest and even circle around the poorest.  Almost everyday we will either take a left onto happiness or a right onto sadness.  The reality of life is that life happens wherever it may take us.  We have to take everything that we learn along the way and learn to strive.  At the end of the day the true victory is learning through the lefts, rights, roadblocks, known as obstacles, stop signs, known as time, and sometimes we even have to make U-turns just to reassure ourselves that the cruise is continuing.  Life is not a physical element, but one that is transparent; therefore it can be traveled through even when it apprears to be a maze.

We've been taught for years that 1+1=2.  How can we be sure that this is accurate?  How can we be sure that what we've been told for so long is true.  The only way that we can be certain is to learn it for ourselves.  When you learn things in life for yourself, you have the understanding and certainty of things.  Strive to learn more and more each day.  Never get tired of learning things because that is what life is about.  People can tell you things all day long, but at the end of the day you have to really know it for yourself.  Take the time to find out about things for yourself.  You are your greatest teacher.  Teachers have a job to teach you material and things of life and how they work, but it is your job to teach yourself the things you may not understand or really know.

Being your own person and standing out in a crowd is very important while going through life.  Don't be afraid to be true to who you are.  Society wants us to think and act a certain way, and to some extent that is the norm, but when it comes to maintaining your own identity be you.  Peer pressure is heavily impacting on our lives while growing up.  Your peers and friends are going to do certain things that you may not agree with and encourage you to go along with them.  They will act like they are your friends while you are engaging in those negative activities until something happens and you get into trouble.  You probably will be able to count on less than one hand how many friends you have left.  It can be so easy to fall right into place and engage in negative activities.

In the world we live in anything is possible.  Some people around us have grown so fond of gender roles, but it has been proven time and time again that gender has no limitations.  According to society girls are supposed to be delicate, shy and quiet.  In reality we can be all of that, but at the same time we are strong, brave and intelligent.  There used to be a time in history where women and girls were only to stay at home and take care of home base.  Thankfully things have changed and now we can do anything we please and do it well!  Girls have the ability to be a CEO of a major company, a race car driver and even president.  Just because you are a girl does not mean you have to be reserved all the time and act like you cannot contribute to the world.  Your place in the world is just as important as that of a man.
