Shane Battier has showed off his skills this NBA season. Battier, guard-forward, is mainly known for his swoosh 3 pointers in these Finals. This 2011-2012 NBA season is his first year playing with the Miami Heat as well as his first year winning the East Conference Finals and being in the Play-Off Finals.

If you are an athlete, sooner or later you will play for a coach who just doesn't seem to like you.
Your parents will probably insist that's just not true. "You're misreading him." or "Maybe she was just grumpy today."
But whether or not it is true, the fact remains that you feel as if your coach dislikes you.
When that happens, what do you want to do? Quit? Ignore the coach? Tough it out?
The kids that arrived at James Monroe Elementary in Norfolk, VA were surprised yesterday morning. They arrived at the school expecting a regular bicycle safety seminar. What they didn't know was that local NFL athlete Kameron Chancellor would be there to greet them.
The Park Place Bike Safety Seminar was hosted by none other than Norfolk native, Kameron Chancellor, the Defensive Back of the Seattle Seahawks.
Ups and down. Wins and losses. Setbacks and small victories. They are all a part of life. And nowhere is it more vividly seen than in your life as an athlete. We learned one season just how important it is to look for the small victories.
They knew it was coming. Billy Hunter, the Executive Director of the National Basketball Player’s Association, warned NBA stars such as Lebron James, Kobe Bryant, and Dwight Howard to put some money away and to plan for a long 2011 off season. In June of 2011, the 10 year contract between the NBA league owners and its players, known as a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA), was up. The owners and most of their teams, according to NBA financial records, were not making money and something had to change.
Trash talking is part of sports. Competition would simply not be as much fun without good-natured ribbing and teasing. You’ve heard your friends and team mates engage in it, I’m sure.

When I watched my first football game, I was bored. I didn’t understand what was going on, but there was nothing to watch on television. I asked my dad several questions and he patiently answered them all. I knew the basics, but I didn’t know there was such a thing as running the ball. I was bored but also intrigued by the drama of the game. There was so much intensity and it was written all over the players’ faces.
